Fire Accident - Saved 16 Burn Cases
Fire broke out on the pandal falling a cracker burst at the Irulappampuram temple festival. Chunks of burnt material fell over the mamoth gathering leading to total chaos. Many sustained burns of varying degrees and few sustained injuries on the way to escape from the crisis. Many of the victims were carefully brought out, treated and cured at Iruthayams Hospital.
   
Tsunami Services
On 26.12.2004 as soon as the news of Tsunami reached our hospital, elaborate arrangement were first made to evacuate the stranded poor fisherman, women and children. Our ambulance rushed to chottavilai to help the people. In addition, our tempo was sent at Manakudi along with two other tempos. Our tempo driver Mr.Thangakrishnan and 42nd ward district secretary Mr. Antony, did a wonderful job by evacuating many stranded fisherman & Women, to town.

The next task was to collect the bodies. Our ambulance and medical team collected the bodies, received them and brought them to our hospital mortuary. The bodies were cleaned, clothing's changed, jewels protected and they were safely handed to their relatives in good condition. Nearly 10 dead bodies were given good service in this manner.

There were three staff from Tsunami hit places working in our hospital. Arrangements were made for the rescue of their families. Our Managing Director personally visit to relief camp at kottar and Carmel Nager Camp, the very next day itself.

Tamil Nadu Evagelical Lutheran people visited our hospital. They gave a parcel to tsunami affected which include a stove, Lunch box, I lunkee, a saree and 2 stainless steel utensils

Other dignitaries who visited our hospital where Ex. Minister Mr. Pon Radhakrishnan, Patchaimal MLA, Collector office People, Police people who solaced the affected.
   
Services for the Poor
The profit made by the hospital is also shared to benefit the poor and needy.

Two students one VII std. and another IX std., Whose father met with sudden death could not pursue their studies. The fees of these two students are borne by the hospital so that they continue their studies still in English Medicine.

One poor boy who completed his XII std. with good marks could not continue his studies because of poverty. This student was admitted to BE degree and made to continue his studies without interruption. The entire course expenses are borne by the hospital. But for this the student's life would not be prospective.

Five poor families are selected and paid Rs.100 per day to meet their daily expenses

Two old men deserted by their wife and children are given shelter and medicial treatment at the hospital expenses.

Most girls after +2 completion are not able to pursue their studies due to poverty. Considering the plight of those poor students, 30 students are selected purely on economical basis and they are imparted nursing training free of cost. In addition they are paid Rs.500 per month.
